As more and more shops open again, here is a list of some of our favorite city spots in Frankfurt and Munich, that serve yummy vegan cakes, delicious coffee and the best chai in town.
Café Fein Frankfurt
Head over to café Fein in Nordend. Nestled in a little park, you will find everything here, that you need for a good start into your weekend. Grab a little almond croissants and a chai oat milk latte and sit down on one of the granny chairs in the park.Café Fein used to be one of the old Trinkhallen in Frankfurt (there were about 80 in the past). Trinkhallen are typical for Frankfurt and they used to be the place where people could get their drinks such as water, milk and tea. This Trinkhalle has been refurbished and has a wonderful vintage charm.
Café Glücklich - Frankfurt
So you haven’t seen your friends for ages. You have plenty of new gossip to share. What you need is a place that serves good coffee and some pancakes. Don’t look any further, I’ve got you covered. Head straight over to café Glücklich in Sachsenhausen. This place has everything you need: sweet and salty options, thin pancakes, scrambled egg and Swiss Bircher muesli – so there’s something for everyone. In summer make sure to reserve a table on the small outdoor terrace overlooking the inner courtyard (suitable for small groups only).
Elaine's Deli Frankfurt
You have heard about all the superfoods? Then try out the acai berry, too. It is full of antioxidants, that boost your immune system. An acai bowl is usually prepared with some coconut water, crunchy granola and colourful fruits topped with some coconut flakes. I have only found one place where you can eat this yummy breakfast: Elaine’s Deli. This place is inside the MMK art museum which also includes a souvenir shop. Take your breakfast there and then do the exhibition.
Tushita Teahouse - Munich
Tushita Teahouse is one of the recommendations, you can't get around if your into tea. Since over 10 years the Tushita teahouse can be found in the hipster area Glockenbachviertel. The interior is stunningly beautiful and you feel zen mode right when you enter. They offer tea tastings, tea ceremonies, healthy meals and some workshops. Come here with your bestie for a piece of cake with a warming cup of tea.
Man vs. Machine Coffee - Munich
This coffee shop is special - you will notice the difference right when you enter. The design is minimalist. The shop was founded in 2014 and they are 100% independent. They roast only Arabica coffee, no Robusta beans. Order your coffee there or take one of their beautifully packaged coffee packages with you home.
Baby, I like it raw - Munich
"Baby, I like it raw" - That's the name of the coffee shop - how cool is that? And no, they don't only offer raw vegan food. The name was inspired by a song. The inside of the copyshop is tiny, but the service is really great. Go here with a friend or solo with your book.
