Let's face it, this summer is different and most of our travel plans for this summer had to adjust. If you suffer from Fernweh (the German word of craving a long distance destination), then check out our favorite international restaurants in Frankfurt.
Korean Food at Sonamu
This is literally the best Korean in town: Sonamu. From the outside the building looks like a little sauna, because it is made entirely of wood. When you go inside the wooden theme is everywhere. Take a seat at the bar or sit down at one of the tables. The owner is a real Korean and very friendly. Start with some delicious appetisers and share the food with your companion. Start with some delicious appetizers and share the food with your companion. Unless, like in a Japanese restaurant, you eat the little soup together with the main dish and not as a starter. The owner will graciously remind you of this rule ;)
Sonamu, Berger Str. 184, 60385 Frankfurt am Main
Japanese Food at Muku
When it’s getting rainy outside, there is no better place than Muku. This Japanese restaurant is famous for Ramen, the Japanese hot bowl with noodles, veggies and / or meat. The servers are all Japanese speaking and very respectful. The interior is simple, yet elegant. Order your favorite ramen and a Kirin (Japanese beer) and then dream of your next vacations to Japan!
Muku, Dreieichstraße 7, 60594 Frankfurt am Main
French Food at Emile
If you like French cuisine and like to be close to the water, then make a stop at Bachforellenweg right at Westside Harbor. There is a small boat on the river called “Emile”. They have a tiny terrace on the boat and it’s awesome for a little candlelight dinner during summer time. Take the Flammkuchen (French thin sliced tarte) and some wine, crème brûlée and voilà. Make sure to reserve in advance.
Emile, Bachforellenweg 51, 60327 Frankfurt am Main
